An ocean water advisory for Las Flores State Beach to Santa Monica State Beach issued over possible impacts from the Palisades Fire will remain in effect until further notice, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced Thursday.
Beachgoers may recreate on the sand, but officials again advised the public to stay away from visible fire debris and to stay out of the ocean water during any posted ocean advisory.
The health department also issued beach area warnings because bacterial levels exceeded health standards when last tested:
Beach information is reported on an advisory hotline, 800-525-5662 and on the Environmental Health website, PublicHealth.LACounty.gov/beach. Additional information on ocean water and beach conditions is available by calling 626-430-5360.
