FireAid concerts for wildfire recovery set for Thursday night

Popular musicians from a variety of genres and generations are set to appear Thursday evening at a two concert venues in the LA area to raise money for wildfire recovery.

The FireAid benefit concert is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Kia Forum, featuring Alanis Morissette, Anderson .Paak, John Mayer, Dawes, Graham Nash, Green Day, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks and the Black Crowes.

At 7:30 p.m., the two-venue event will shift to the nearby Intuit Dome, where the concert will feature Billie Eilish, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Baby, Olivia Rodrigo, Peso Pluma, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Sting and Tate McRae.

Dave Matthews had been scheduled to perform at the Kia Forum but said Wednesday he had to withdraw because of a “critical illness in the family.”

The FireAid concerts are “dedicated to rebuilding communities that have been devastated by wildfires,” organizers said.

The concerts will be broadcast and streamed live on Apple Music and the Apple TV app, Max, iHeartRadio, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudom, Paramount+, Prime Video and the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch, SiriusXM, Spotify, SoundCloud, Veeps and YouTube. Select AMC Theatre locations in 70 U.S. markets will also show the concerts.

“Contributions made to FireAid in connection with the FireAid benefit concert and other direct donations will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation and will be distributed for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California,” according to the event’s website. “The Annenberg Foundation, with decades of philanthropic leadership in our community, including rapid response, will help coordinate a team to direct funds for the greatest impact.”

FireAid is produced in part by Irving Azoff, the Eagles’ longtime manager. in collaboration with Live Nation, the LA Clippers, concert executive producer Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet and the event’s talent producer Rick Krim.
