The changing seasons impact which bird species make the Cleveland National Forest their home every winter. Whether you are a frequent birder, or simply interested in learning about local bird species, families are invited to walk the meadows of the Skyline Trail on Jan. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m.

This hike will be about 3 miles in length and mainly flat with some elevation gain. Note that inclement weather might postpone/cancel the hike and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Park Rangers will provide guidance if any hazardous conditions are encountered.

Young hikers (5+) are welcome to participate with their parents. The pace of the hike will be determined by the participants, but plan to be out on the trails with for at least two hours. Due to the group environment, furry friends should stay at home.

Participation in the hikes will require all hikers to complete a Waiver of Liability. Any participants under the age of 18 will need a parent to sign their waiver of liability. An email confirmation will be sent out to registered hikers on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
