2 people shot to death in Altadena; woman fatally stabbed in Azusa

Authorities on Saturday were investigating separate homicides in Altadena and Azusa.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives sought information on the fatal shooting of a man and a woman in Altadena.

Sheriff’s deputies from the Altadena Station responded at  8:04 p.m. Friday to the 700 block of West Sacramento Street, near Casitas Avenue, to do a welfare check and discovered the deceased victims, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are in charge of the investigation.

Woman stabbed to death in Azusa

Sheriff’s homicide detectives Saturday were investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman in Azusa, the sheriff’s department announced.

Azusa Police Department officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 10 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North Soldano Avenue, near Third Street and west of the Azusa High School West Campus. When police arrived, they found the woman suffering from stab wounds, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.

No additional information was available, authorities said.
