Burbank launches online residential parking permit portal

Burbank has launched an online residential parking permit portal that enables residents to renew or apply for parking permits, city officials announced Monday.

The city also will transition to a virtual license plate-based permit system, aka Permit-By-Plate, for all residential permits, according to a city statement. This digital transition eliminates decals, hangtags and permit cycles.

Annual residential and annual visitor parking permits that expire Sept. 30 have been extended to Dec. 31, officials said. Beginning Jan. 1, all permits will rely on vehicle license plates rather than displayed parking credentials.

Residential and visitor permits will be valid for one year from the date of approval and purchase, officials said. Residents must reapply for a new parking account via the online Parking Portal or in-person at the Community Services Building, 150 N. Third St. Mondays-Thursdays 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m.-2:45 p.m. The office is closed for lunch noon-1 p.m.

More information on the permit program is available from the Community Development Transportation Division, 818-238-5290, Parking@BurbankCA.gov or parking.burbankca.gov.
