RUHS Community Health Centers recognized for improving health care for residents
The Riverside University Health System Community Health Centers have received top honors for improving patient outcomes.
Four Community Health Quality Recognition Badges were awarded to the Community Health Centers from the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that supports equitable health care for high-need communities.
“These awards are evidence of Riverside University Health System’s commitment to providing outstanding patient care,” said Dr. Mahbuba Khan, Medical Director of the Community Health Centers. “As our Riverside County patient population continues to grow, we will embrace new technologies, reduce disparities and make sure patients have access to the high-quality care they deserve.”
Each year the agency reviews the performance of community health centers against its program requirements. This is the third year in a row RUHS has been recognized for its quality of care for patients.
RUHS earned the following CHQR badges for 2024:
Health Center Quality Leader (Silver): RUHS ranks among the top 20% of nationally ranked health centers on HRSA Clinical Quality Measure data, leading in breast and colon cancer screening, depression treatment and HIV screening.
Access Enhancer: RUHS increased services by 5%, for the total number of patients receiving mental health, substance use disorder, dental, vision or other enabling services.
Health Disparities Reducer: RUHS demonstrated improvements in hypertension control and diabetes treatment across all racial/ethnic groups.
