A diverse field of boxers will demonstrate their skills in an Olympic-style boxing exhibition Friday in Pasadena, the city announced.
For the ninth year the Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will host the Centennial Square Boxing Show in front of City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave., from 7-10 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event features 12 boxing matches with male and female competitors ages 8 and older.
“Boxing promotes physical and mental discipline, strength, and well-being, and is often a good fit for youth,” according to a city statement.
The event begins with the national anthem and a color guard presentation by the Pasadena-based 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment. A DJ spinning music, classic cars on display and food for purchase are also key attractions.
