The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is now accepting applications for the 2025 Rose Court, the organization announced Tuesday.

Prospective members of court must reside in the Pasadena City College district and these zip codes, seven of which are newly added: 90032, Los Angeles/El Sereno; 90041, LA/Eagle Rock; 90042, LA/Highland Park; 91775 and 91776, San Gabriel; 91801 and 91803, Alhambra. According to the Tournament of Roses, applicants must:

  • identify as a female, and be at least 17 years old by Dec. 31 but not older than 21 before Jan. 5;
  • be a full-time resident and a senior in high school or a full-time student taking minimum of 12 units who lives in the Pasadena Area Community College District or the eligible zip codes;
  • have at least a 2.0 grade point average in the current and previous years;
  • be available in-person for all interview sessions scheduled later this year; and
  • complete the Rose Court online application.

“We are excited to continue the treasured legacy of the Rose Court, whose members benefit by connecting with their communities, giving back in meaningful ways and growing self-confidence from valuable experiences they will carry with them for a lifetime,” according to a Tournament of Roses statement.

“We’re looking for applicants who bring diverse strengths and perspectives — whether they’re natural public speakers, youth leaders, academic stars, or involved in their community and school,” the organization said. “An applicant isn’t required to have all these skills; the selected Rose Court members will provide a well-rounded group who serve as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses, the Pasadena community and the greater Los Angeles area.”

In addition to a $7,500 scholarship an appearance in the 2025 Rose Parade, the Tournament of Roses provides Rose Court members with the opportunity to “connect with the community” and “give back in meaningful ways.”

The first round of applicant interviews will take place at the Tournament House on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon, then a lunch break, with interviews resuming in the afternoon from 1 to 3. Another interview session is set for Sept. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Virtual information sessions on the Rose Court were scheduled for Aug. 22 and Sept. 3, according to the Tournament of Roses.

On New Year’s Day, the 2025 Rose Court will proceed down Colorado Boulevard in the 136th Rose Parade and attend the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 111th Rose Bowl Game.

The court is presented by Citizens Business Bank.

Rose Court finalists will be announced Sept. 30 at 9 a.m., according to the tournament. The announcement and coronation of the 106th Rose Queen and presentation of the Rose Court will be Oct. 29.
