The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose for the 11th consecutive day Monday, inching up two-tenths of a cent to $4.685.
The streak of rising prices began one day after the end of a 20-day streak of decreases that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Jan. 24, 2023, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 10.5 cents more than one week ago, 6 cents less than one month ago, and 4.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.813 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $4.624, increasing for the 10th time in 11 days. It is 11.4 cents more than one week ago, 2.3 cents less than one month ago, and 2.4 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.835 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average gasoline price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.148. It is 4.1 cents more than one week ago and 6 cents more than one month ago, but 32.7 cents less than one year ago. The national average has dropped $1.868 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“We are in that time of year where pump prices begin to heat up, usually peaking around July,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “But unless something shocks the global oil market and causes prices to spike, the national average for a gallon of gas will probably stagger higher, with some flat days or even small price dips along the way.”
Riverside County gas prices rise for 10th consecutive day
The Riverside County average gasoline price rose for the 10th consecutive day Monday, increasing a half-cent to $4.553.
The average price has risen 19.1 cents over the past 10 days, including six-tenths of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. Prior to that it decreased 10 times in 11 days, dropping to its lowest amount since Dec. 31, 2022,
The Riverside County average price is 14.9 cents more than one week ago, 4.6 cents less than one month ago, and 5.5 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.82 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
San Diego County average gas price drops, ending 9-day streak of increases
The average price of gasoline in San Diego County dropped three-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.692, ending a streak of nine days of increases in a row.
The streak of rising prices began one day after the end of an 18-day streak of decreases that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Jan. 24, 2023.
The average price is 10.6 cents more than one week ago, 7.9 cents less than one month ago, and 4.7 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.737 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
