Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was killed in a shooting in Pasadena that left another person wounded.

The crime occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Monday near West Hammond Street and Morton Avenue, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Cecilio Hernandez Ramirez Jr., 26, of Pasadena died at a hospital, police said.

Officers went to the location regarding an alert from the ShotSpotter detection system, police said.

“In addition, police dispatch received several `shots fired’ calls from residents,” police said in a statement. “Upon arrival, officers located an adult male down in the parking lot of a multi-unit apartment complex.

“As officers were establishing a crime scene, a second victim from the shooting arrived at the same local hospital via private transportation,” police said. “The second victim, a juvenile male, had sustained a non-life- threatening gunshot wound.”

No arrests were reported, and the motive for the shooting was not known.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 626- 744-4241, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Tipsters may also use the website lacrimestoppers.org.
