Authorities Friday sought the public’s help to identify additional potential victims of a teacher at a Sylmar elementary school arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a student.
The Los Angeles Police Department received a report Tuesday from a victim who alleged that Giancarlo Corsi — whose age was not released — “had touched him in an inappropriate manner” inside a classroom at Harding Street Elementary School in multiple incidents during the 2004-2005 school year, according to a department statement.
Corsi was arrested on Thursday and was being held on $2 million bail.
Police reported that Corsi, who resided in Santa Clarita at the time of his arrest, was employed as an elementary school teacher at various San Fernando Valley elementary schools from 1992 to 2006. He took a hiatus from teaching for approximately 11 years, but returned to teaching in 2017 and eventually returned to teach at Harding Street Elementary School.
Anyone who may be a victim or has additional information regarding Corsi was asked to call LAPD Juvenile Division detectives at 818-374-5415. Calls made during nonbusiness hours or on weekends can be directed to 877-527- 3247.
