A Silver Alert was issued Thursday for a 80-year-old man who was reported missing after last being seen in Compton.

Gregorio Gonzalez was last seen about 11 a.m. Thursday, though his last approximate whereabouts in Compton were not known, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Gonzalez is 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, and was last seen driving a blue 1998 Ford Explorer with the California license plate 5DFJ606

Anyone who sees Gonzalez or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
