A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday for a 71-year-old man who was reported missing after last being seen in Sylmar.
Cecilio Gonzalez was last seen about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, though his last approximate whereabouts in Sylmar were not known, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gonzalez is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and tan shoes.
Anyone who sees Gonzalez or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
