A vehicle crash apparently sparked a two-acre brush fire Tuesday near the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the Covina area.
The crash was reported at about 12:45 p.m. near Via Verde, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles County Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene and managed to contain the brush fire by about 2:20 p.m. One person was taken to a hospital by paramedics for an unspecified medical reason, according to the department.
Two eastbound freeway lanes were blocked as a precaution following the collision and during the firefighting efforts, according to the CHP.
