Two men were hospitalized Friday in critical condition after being shot during an apparent robbery in North Hollywood, police said.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded just after midnight to the 11100 block of Califa Street, where they found the men suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told City News Service.

The wounded men, ages 28 and 26, were taken to a hospital in critical condition, Madison said.

Detectives learned the men were shot by three suspects wearing ski masks during a robbery, Madison said. Witnesses told police the suspects drove away in a white SUV in an unknown direction.

According to Fox 11, one of the victims is rapper Wakko the Kidd, who was returning home with a friend from a recording studio in Hollywood when the crime occurred.

The police could not confirm the Fox 11 report.
