Mayor Eric Garcetti is traveling internationally with trips planned for Indonesia and Japan, according to his office.
Garcetti left Friday for Jakarta, on the island of Java, to attend the Urban20 Mayors Summit, where he will speak at events highlighting sustainable urban development, preparations for climate change and connectivities between cities.
The mayor will be in Jakarta through next Wednesday and then head to Tokyo for the remainder of next week.
In Tokyo, Garcetti is scheduled to explore the city’s clean energy policies and how it is using advanced technologies at its ports and resource facilities.
Garcetti will remain in Japan through Sept. 3.
