A Los Angeles man was charged Tuesday with murder in a homeless man’s stabbing death in Pasadena.
Sadarius Lawson, 26, is set to be arraigned Wednesday in a Pasadena courtroom, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Lawson has remained behind bars since his arrest late Friday, jail records show.
Officers detained Lawson a short distance from the crime scene within a few minutes of the original call of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Keith Gomez.
Officers were sent to the 600 block of North Lake Avenue, near Orange Grove Boulevard, and found the victim in the street, Gomez said.
The man — who had been stabbed multiple times — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gomez.
The victim was subsequently identified as Alex Dominguez, a 43-year-old homeless man, according to the coroner’s office.
