Glendale police Wednesday released security video of a smash-and-grab robbery of a jewelry store, as detectives sought the public’s help to find two suspects in the crime.
The robbery occurred at about 1:10 p.m. July 8 in the 200 block of North Brand Boulevard, the Glendale Police Department reported.
According to police, a man “entered the store holding a box of earrings and asked if they would be interested in buying them.”
“He then pulled a hammer out of a black backpack and smashed the display,” police said. “He made off with several display cases of jewelry.”
A woman who had been in the store shortly before the crime is being sought as a possible accomplice, police said.
The man was described as 20-30 years old, 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black mask, a black bucket hat and clear latex gloves. The woman was described as 25-30 years old, with long hair in a bun.
The pair may have fled in a black 2018-20 Audi Q5 with no license plates. Anyone with information on the smash-and-grab robbery was urged to call police at 818-548-4911, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
