Antisemitic and racist hate speech and vulgar images were found painted across a Manhattan Beach elementary school, authorities said Friday.
The vandalism was discovered Thursday morning by staff at Meadows Elementary School, located at 1200 N. Meadows Ave., according to the Manhattan Beach Unified School District and Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The words and images “were promptly removed upon discovery,” said authorities, who are investigating to identify the suspect or suspects responsible for the vandalism.
“Whoever did this, they need to find something better to do because the only thing they accomplished was to show the rest of us how stupid and intolerant they are,” Manhattan Beach Mayor Steve Napolitano said. “We’re going to do all we can to find them and hold them accountable.
“Stupidity may not be a crime, but what they did is, and we should all be concerned. We’ve seen far too many things like this lately and it needs to stop.”
Anyone with information on the vandalism at Meadows Elementary School was asked to call the Manhattan Beach Police Department at 310-802-5171.
