Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was shot and killed in a residential neighborhood in Pasadena.
Eric Thomas, 28, of Pasadena died at the scene of the crime, which was reported about 9 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and Pasadena police.
Police were alerted to the shooting by a new gunfire technology called “ShotSpotter” designed to assist police in determining where there have been gunshots, police said.
Officers searched the area for surveillance footage and potential witnesses. No arrests were reported, and no suspect description was available.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 626-744-4241.
