A person was hit by a Metro A Line train and killed Friday in the Florence-Firestone area of the county.
The person was hit about 11 a.m. at the rail crossing near Gage and Holmes avenues, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Services Bureau.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person, who died at the scene.
Rail service was interrupted on the A Line, formerly known as the Blue Line, between the Florence and the Slauson stations, and bus shuttles were arranged to assist rail passengers. The investigation was continuing.
