Vice President Kamala Harris will speak at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Los Angeles Monday evening, hours after taking a tour of the operations center at Vandenberg Space Force Base on California’s Central Coast.
Details of the fundraiser were not immediately released. Harris is scheduled to speak at the event at 8:10 p.m., according to the White House.
Harris will be accompanied in Los Angeles by her husband, Doug Emhoff. The couple live in Brentwood and will likely spend the night at their home, although the White House did not immediately elaborate on their departure plans from Los Angeles.
As is typical with visits by the vice president or president, Westside motorists could encounter rolling traffic closures to accommodate motorcades.
During her visit to Vandenberg Monday afternoon, Harris “will be briefed on the work of U.S. Space Force and U.S. Space Command advancing our national security,” according to the White House. Harris will also meet with service members and their families, and make public remarks about Space Force operations and goals.
Vandenberg Space Force Base on Sunday was the scene of a rocket launch by Hawthorne-based SpaceX, which propelled a spy satellite into orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office.
