MADIA Tech report: What’s an NFT?

The digital world is changing many of the normal things we do, including basic activities like how to use money and buy or exchange or account for things of value. Do you know how to use an NFT or what it even stands for? Answer: non-fungible token.

On April 20, 2022, the MADIA Tech Launch meeting will offer many more answers with a presentation from someone who knows how to explain how digital technology works. Such a task is in fact in her job title.

Jeanette DePatie describes her profession as a “techsplainer.” She is the chief at Propellerhead Inc. a company involved in helping consumers, manufacturers, and investors understand technology and tech products. DePatie knows how to break down cutting-edge concepts and terminology into everyday language. She knows the words that belong to the acronyms and can explain in plain English what they mean and how things work.

You’ve likely heard about, but may not fully understand, things like NFTs and other emerging technologies such as blockchain technology, DeFi, DAOs, and WEB 3.0. If you would like to learn more about how they are likely to impact your life and business, all are invited to enjoy DePatie’s presentation to MADIA Tech Launch either in person or online via an Eventbrite link that can be found at the MADIA Tech Launch website: www.MADIAtech.org

The in-person option takes place at Tanner Research,1851 E. Huntington Drive

Duarte, CA 91010 and includes a tasty and healthy dinner from Little Green Forks. There is no charge for the online option, but free tickets are required to get the ZOOM link. The program begins with networking at 6:30 p.m., and the formal presentation begins at 7 p.m.  After the meeting, attendees gather for fun conversations at Cabrera’s Mexican Restaurant.

MADIA Tech Launch is a nonprofit educational organization supporting the technology and entrepreneurial community in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. You can be a part of and follow the organization’s activities on LinkedIn and Facebook.
