A man who was allegedly threatening people and potentially firing a weapon was taken into custody Thursday following a standoff with police at a Woodland Hills apartment complex.
Officers went to the 5500 block of Canoga Avenue about 7:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A SWAT team and crisis negotiators were sent to the scene, and the standoff continued until about 12:15 p.m., when the man was taken into custody, police said. His name was not immediately available.
One witness in the area told KNX Newsradio that the suspect was screaming, throwing things and doing “crazy things.” Another resident said police informed her the suspect was armed.
