A recent study by BetUS, a privately held online gambling company offering sports betting, casino games and horse racing, found that out of all the states in the United States, California produces the highest-earning UFC fighters in the country.
Across the world, the U.S. easily develops the most UFC fighters per one million residents. On average, they produce more than 0.54 fighters than Canada, which ranks second among all countries. 579 fighters out of the 1,200 fighters connected to the company are American, compared to only 39 Canadians.
Although California is not home to the most number of fighters compared to other states in the U.S. (that title belongs to Alaska, as they produce 0.68 fighters per 100,000 residents), California is ranked first in average salary by a long shot.
According to BetUS’s chart, California’s average salary per fighter — $6.7 million — is nearly triple compared to the second-place state, Wisconsin — $2.7 million.
