The Los Angeles County Public Works is hosting an oil filter exchange event this upcoming Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AutoZone located at 5858 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles.
The department is encouraging residents to bring in their used motor oil and used oil filters for recycling. Throughout the event, when a resident brings a used oil filter to recycle, AutoZone will provide a new, complimentary oil filter.
They will also be providing other functional items such as oil filter containers, towels and funnels.
Recycling used oil is a highly important step that drivers can take in order to protect and save the environment. Doing so keeps the oil from polluting soil and water, especially since motor oil is incapable of wearing out and disintegrating.
