Bob Saget died from head trauma, his family said Wednesday — one month to the day after the comedian was found dead at age 65 in an Orlando, Florida, hotel room.

“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us,” the family said in a statement released by Saget’s longtime publicist, Michael O’Brien.

“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

The family also said that, since Saget was found dead on Jan. 9, “we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful.”

The statement added, “As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”

The “Full House” and “Fuller House” star was in Florida as part of his nationwide “I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour.” He had also hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos” from 1990 to 1997.

A private funeral service was held in Los Angeles on Jan. 14, with more than 100 of Saget’s friends and colleagues attending — including fellow comedians Dave Chappelle, Kathy Griffin, Chris Rock, Jimmy Kimmel and Jeff Ross.

Pallbearers included Ross, John Mayer, Judd Apatow, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and “Full House” co-stars John Stamos and Dave Coulier, according to multiple media reports.

A larger, public memorial service is planned for later this year.

According to a report released by the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office, Saget was found dead by a hotel security officer who went to his Ritz-Carlton hotel room after the comedian’s family was unable to contact him. According to the report, Saget was lying face up on his bed, had no pulse, was unresponsive and cold to the touch.

The report indicated there were no signs of foul play, and the room was in order, with Saget’s possessions on the nightstand, closet, bathroom and TV stand.
