Pechanga seeks to fill spots in poolside job fair

The Pechanga Resort Casino will hold a two-day job fair next week to fill dozens of positions to staff the 4.5-acre Cove Pool Complex, slated to open in the spring.

The recruitment fair will begin Wednesday, running from noon to 4 p.m., then continue Thursday during the same hours, with interviews and possible on-the-spot job offers at the Cove.

“No poolside event, even a job fair, would be complete without the island sounds of steel drummers,” according to a resort statement. “Candidates can also enjoy poolside slushy mocktails.”

Hiring managers are looking for qualified applicants to serve as line cooks, servers, bartenders, lifeguards and supervisors.

Entry-level hourly wages range from $14 to $17, and there are sign-on bonuses of $2,500 available, according to the resort.

The bonuses come with conditions, including a requirement that new workers remain on the job for at least six months.

Officials said jobs come with medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as 401K retirement plans and potential educational reimbursement incentives.

Prospects can upload their resumes ahead of time at www.pechanga.com/careers. The site also lists and describes available positions.

Similar hiring fairs were held last summer and fall.
