UCLA police seek public help to find suspects in campus robbery

Authorities Tuesday sought public help to find three suspects who beat and robbed a UCLA student on campus.

The crime occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, according to UCLA police. The victim suffered minor injuries.

One suspect “punched the victim and stole property that the victim had previously agreed to sell to the suspect,” police said in a statement. “A second suspect confronted the victim when the victim attempted to get his property back from the first suspect. A third suspect was driving the suspect vehicle that the two other suspects ran to and fled the area with the property.”

Police released security image of the first suspect and the vehicle. The suspect was described as having a slim build and being in his late teens or early 20s, 5-feet-9 inches tall, with brown Afro-style hair, police said. He was wearing a blue sweater and gray sweatpants.

The second suspect was described as a male of unknown race, with a dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black sweater. The driver of the getaway vehicle was described only as a male.

The vehicle was described as a 2009 four-door teal Saturn Aura, license number 8EGX642.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 310- 825-1491.
