Actor Tim Allen will again don the red suit and big white beard when he reprises his role as Scott Calvin — the loving-father- turned-Santa — in a limited-series reboot of the Christmas film series “The Santa Clause,” Disney announced Friday.
The limited series will stream on Disney+, with production set to begin in March in Los Angeles. In addition to starring, Allen will also be an executive producer.
Allen appeared in three “Santa Clause” movies between 1994 and 2006.
According to Disney, the limited series will feature Allen’s character nearing age 65 and realizing he’s “starting to lose a step in his Santa duties.” He sets out to find a replacement Santa, while also preparing his family to leave the North Pole and return to the “normal world.”
