Hey SoCal! This week we lost beloved Full House star, Bob Saget. But, if you’ve spent the week binging Bob’s diverse comedy oeuvre, from playing dad on Full House to sucking D in Half Baked, you may have missed out on some important news. Don’t sweat it, cuz Mike Ciriaco is bringing it back to your brain with this week’s Deja News.

Over the weekend, The Golden Globes were presented without a telecast or a host.

The private ceremony on Sunday night celebrated the works of film and television and shined a light on the HFPA’s philanthropy work.

“The Power of the Dog” and “Belfast” had the most Golden Globe nominations with seven. “King Richard,” “Licorice Pizza” and “West Side Story” were also among the most nominated movies in the film categories.

“Succession,” “Hacks,” “The Morning Show” and “Ted Lasso” were among the most nominated TV shows.

LikeMeat sampled its new LikeChickin’ Wings at The Rose Bowl Fest this week.

LikeMeat, a LIVEKINDLY Collective brand, is winging it this year at the annual Rose Bowl Fan Fest on New Year’s Day in Pasadena and sampling the brand’s new “Like Chick’n Wings” in a custom LikeMeat “greenhouse” from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Giving a nod to the Rose Bowl Parade’s gorgeous display of plant-only floats, LikeMeat created a custom greenhouse for tailgaters to walk through as they try LikeMeat’s new wings.

Researchers discovered the effects of the second Moderna shot only last 5 months.

Research by Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, published on Nov. 25 in The Lancet Regional Health – Americas, confirmed Moderna COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness lasts up to five months after the second dose. Effectiveness was 87% against COVID-19 infection, 96% against COVID-19 hospitalization, and 98% against COVID-19 death.

This study evaluated the five-month effectiveness of the Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccine as part of a five-year observational study within Kaiser Permanente, an integrated health care organization with 4.7 million members in Southern California.

Netflix’s most watched movie of the week was Don’t Look Up.

“Don’t Look Up” was the most-watched English- language film on Netflix for the third consecutive week despite a 61.8% drop in viewership from the previous week, according to figures released Tuesday by the streaming service.

Viewers spent 58.2 million hours between Jan. 3 and Sunday watching the comedy about an approaching comet that will destroy Earth in its second full week of release.

“Don’t Look Up” was watched for 152.29 million hours the previous week and for 321.52 million hours in the first 17 days it has been available.

Mike will be back next Friday with another Deja News. And for weekend social suggestions, hit up our Hey SoCalendar.

And rest in peace, Bob Saget!
