Jaycees set to continue longtime tradition of selling Rose Bowl Game programs
With every Rose Bowl Game program that is purchased, the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) raise funds for their charitable projects that support the local community. Through a longstanding partnership with the Tournament of Roses, and a history that goes back to the colorization of the field for the very first Rose Bowl Game, the Pasadena Jaycees have been in charge of selling official Rose Bowl Game programs for decades.
Every purchase of a program (which can be purchased in advance of the game through the Jaycees’ website–pasadenajaycees.org/rose-bowl-programs) gives back to:
- Operation Santa, which just this weekend served nearly 1,000 local children in need with toys and gifts for the 2021 holidays, and has been giving back to Pasadena since 1934.
- Operation Gobbler, a partnership with Friends In Deed, which has given the ingredients for Thanksgiving meals to hundreds of families each year for over 30 years.
- Five Acres’ Parties which help bring fun, education, and possible future mentors to the foster children living at Five Acres.
- And other projects that the Jaycees organize when Pasadena has a need, like Operation Strong, a project where the Jaycees distributed hygiene kits to those in need during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Operation Restaurant Worker, that helped out-of-work restaurant workers as the pandemic raged on and restaurants remained closed.
With COVID-19 cases spiking once again, the Pasadena Jaycees’ projects are more important than ever. You can purchase a program at pasadenajaycees.org/rose-bowl-programs to support the Jaycees’ charitable work and as a memento of the 2022 Rose Bowl Game.
Current Jaycees President, Phillip Arce remarked, “For ninety-two years, the Pasadena Jaycees have strived to make a positive impact on the Pasadena community. I am grateful for our long-standing relationship with the Tournament of Roses, and I am thrilled that we are able to resume our Program Sales project to help us fund our community service projects in the coming year.”
The Rose Bowl Game will be held on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with the number seven Ohio State Buckeyes facing off against the 10th ranked Utah Utes.
The Pasadena Jaycees began in 1929 and have been a volunteer and leadership training organization for people aged 21 to 40 ever since. For more information about joining or about any of the Jaycees’ projects, please visit www.pasadenajaycees.org or email info@pasadenajaycees.org.
