The Los Angeles Kings’ road game against the Vegas Golden Knights scheduled for Thursday was postponed Monday as the NHL will begin its Holiday Break effective with the conclusion of Tuesday’s games, two days earlier than planned.
Ten of the 15 games scheduled for Thursday had been previously postponed because of coronavirus issues.
Under the revised schedule agreed to by the league and its players’ union, Wednesday through Saturday will be off days for all purposes, including travel, the league announced.
The Holiday Break had been scheduled to begin at the conclusion of Thursday’s games.
Players will report back to their teams Sunday, which shall be used for testing, practice and/or travel only. Upon return from the Holiday Break to team facilities, no individual in the team’s traveling party shall enter the facility, other than for testing purposes, until they have a negative test result.
Any practice scheduled for Sunday must begin after 2 p.m. local time.
Play is set to resume Monday with 14 games, including the Kings playing at Arizona.
