El Capitan Theatre hosting special opening fan event for ‘West Side Story’

Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre is presenting Twentieth Century Studios’ ”West Side Story” Dec. 10, 2021 through Jan. 2, 2022. Before and during the show, guests can see a display of costumes and take a picture at a “West Side Story” themed photo op.

Directed by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg, from a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tony Kushner, “West Side Story” tells the classic tale of fierce rivalries and young love in 1957 New York City.

There will be a special opening night fan event on Thursday, Dec. 9at 7:00 p.m. Guests will be among the first to see “West Side Story”and each ticket includes reserved seating, one 64-ounce popcorn tub, one themed mocktail and one Souvenir Credential with Lanyard.  Tickets for this special opportunity are $25.00 per person no matter of age. 

There is a special offer for D23 Gold Members. If you show your valid D23 Gold Member Card you are eligible to receive one complimentary 64oz box of popcorn, one complimentary 20oz bottled beverage and 1 “West Side Story”poster while supplies last.

The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ will be played before the screenings during opening week, and at all Saturday and Sunday screenings throughout the engagement.

Daily showtimes for ”West Side Story” on Dec. 10 through Dec. 12 are 11:30 a.m., 3:15 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Daily showtimes for the Dec. 13 through Jan. 2 showings are 12:00 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. However, showtimes and dates are subject to change.

All seats for this engagement are reserved, with VIP tickets starting at $28, adult tickets at $17 and children aged between 3-11, along with seniors aged 60 or older, can buy tickets for $14.
