The City of Arcadia has released a public mapping tool for the City Council redistricting process. In that portal, residents can now draw both a map and a community of interest for the city. To let the City Council know about a community of interest and what brings it together, or to submit a suggested City Council district map, visitors are encouraged to share their maps using this tool.
The deadline to submit draft maps for inclusion at the next public hearing is Jan. 15, 2022. Maps submitted by the deadline will be presented for discussion and consideration at a public hearing at the Feb. 1, 2022, City Council meeting.
The final public hearing is scheduled for the March 15, 2022, City Council meeting at which time the City Council will vote to adopt a new City Council district map.
For the City of Arcadia, the redistricting process must be completed by April 17, 2022. Additional public hearings may be scheduled as needed prior to the deadline.
The public is invited to comment on redistricting issues discussed during those meetings. For more information regarding the city’s redistricting process, how to submit maps, including instructional videos, visit the city’s website at ArcadiaCA.gov/redistricting.
