A man is in custody Tuesday after a traffic stop in Whittier led to his arrest on gun and drug charges.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department’s Norwalk Station stopped the suspect at 11:23 p.m. Monday in the 12950 block of Sunnyside Place in the unincorporated area of Whittier for an expired car registration violation, said a Norwalk Station watch commander.
The driver had an expired license and deputies discovered that he was also in possession of a loaded firearm and an unknown quantity of methamphetamine, the watch commander said.
The suspect was arrested by police and booked at the Norwalk Station Jail.
