A fire damaged a strip mall in the Tarzana area Tuesday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 18700 block of West Ventura Boulevard about 7:15 a.m. extinguished the flames in 47 minutes, said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire spread through the walls, attic, and facade of a one-story strip mall, Prange said.
“The main fire unit was on the end, adjacent to Ventura Boulevard, and is currently a vacant occupancy,” Prange said in a statement.
“The fire spread to the adjacent unit, Kushiyu restaurant, where firefighters stopped the progress,” Prange said. “No other units in the strip mall became involved.”
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
