Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27) joined ChapCare and Westfield Santa Anita for a press conference celebrating the grand opening of a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Westfield Santa Anita in Arcadia on Thursday morning.
ChapCare CEO Margaret Martinez introduced Chu who pointed out the need to get everyone in San Gabriel Valley vaccinated and the importance of educating the public about the false information some are spreading.
“The vaccine is safe,” Chu stressed emphatically and urged the vaccine hesitant to not be misled by misinformation. Chu said that with the Delta variant very much part of our lives now, COVID-19 vaccines are a crucial step in keeping communities safe.
ChapCare is a community health center network that has been providing medical services to under-insured and uninsured residents of the San Gabriel Valley. The partnership with Westfield Santa Anita is part of a ChapCare’s effort to make COVID-19 vaccinations accessible to all, ahead of the holiday season.
The pop-up clinic will operate through the end of the year and will offer free COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) for all eligible age groups.
The ChapCare COVID-19 clinic will be located in Suite # F18 on the second floor of the mall, next to JC Penney. The clinic will be open to the public on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. To book an appointment, call ChapCare at (626) 398-6300. Walks-ins are also welcome.
