Police seek suspect who allegedly shot 3 people, killing 1 in LA

Police in Los Angeles Monday were searching for a suspect who allegedly shot three people, killing a 61-year-old man.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday to the 400 block of East 92nd Street, in the Green Meadows neighborhood, on reports of the shooting. They found three victims, including Ruben Marrufo, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The two unidentified victims were taken to a hospital in unknown condition, while Marrufo died of his injuries at the scene, according to the LAPD.

Investigators determined that the suspect, 35-year-old Jesse Medrano was involved in a dispute with the three victims before he allegedly shot them, according to the LAPD.

Medrano the allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle, which was found abandoned in Bell, officials said. After abandoning the first vehicle, Medrano allegedly carjacked a 1999 Toyota Sienna with the California license plate number 8WBJ565, police said. That vehicle has yet to be located.

Medrano is Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds, with brown eyes, a bald head and tattoos on his face. He is considered armed and dangerous, and the public was advised not to attempt to apprehend him if seen.
