Authorities Thursday released security video of a vehicle detectives believe was involved in the hit-and-run death of a 55-year-old man in North Hollywood over the weekend.

The dark van was westbound on Oxnard Street about 9:45 p.m. Saturday when it struck the man, who was crossing mid-block southbound on Oxnard east of Farmdale Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The motorist drove away westbound on Oxnard. The injured man, a North Hollywood resident, died at a hospital. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division detectives urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 818-644-8032.
