Police were investigating the death of a woman who was struck by a Metro train Wednesday in the Koreatown area.

The Los Angeles Police Department received a report at about 1:05 p.m. of a woman who had possibly jumped in front of a Red Line train in the area of the Wilshire/Vermont Metro Station, according to Officer Tony Im.

Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the woman dead, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

LAPD units established a crime scene at the area and were investigating the woman’s death, Im said.

No further details were immediately released.
