Some motorists in the Crenshaw District could encounter delays Thursday as Metro conducts train testing on the route of the future Crenshaw/LAX transit line.

Between 9 a.m. and noon, Metro and its contractor on the line will be testing trains on the tracks along Crenshaw Boulevard.

The testing means trains will be sporadically crossing intersections in the Crenshaw corridor. Trains will pass through at-grade crossings along Crenshaw Boulevard at 59th Street, Slauson Avenue and 57th, 54th, 52nd and 50th streets.

Motorists in the area are being advised to be aware of railroad crossing arms and lights. Traffic control officers and flaggers will be on hand to help direct traffic, according to Metro.

The Crenshaw/LAX line, expected to open later this year, will connect the Expo Line at Crenshaw Boulevard with Metro Green Line at the Aviation/LAX station. It will pass through downtown Inglewood and be the closest rail line to SoFi Stadium and the Forum.
