The City of Monrovia, with the Superintendent of the Monrovia Unified School District, immediately suspended all MAX Aquatics programming in Monrovia until further notice.

The City of Monrovia has contracted with MAX Aquatics to operate aquatics programs at the Monrovia High School pool since 2016. MAX Aquatics offers swim programs such as competition swimming, swim lessons, and more at numerous pools across the region. The participants of the programs include Monrovia residents and residents from communities all around the area.

MAX Aquatics strictly follows USA Swimming protocols, which requires all coaches to pass criminal background checks, pre-employment screening, complete required Athlete Protection Training, and are certified for CPR, First Aid and Safety.

An individual employed as a coach by MAX Aquatics was arrested for violations of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts involving children, and other sex crimes.

The Arcadia Police Department would like to know if there are additional victims.
