3.6 earthquake centered near Thousand Oaks; No damage reported locally

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake centered in Ventura County was felt in the Los Angeles area around 7:59 Monday morning, but no injuries or damage were reported in the L.A. area.

The temblor, at a depth of about a half-mile, was centered 3.8 miles northeast of Casa Conejo, 4.1 miles south southwest of Moorpark, 5.5 miles northwest of Thousand Oaks and 7.6 miles west southwest of Simi Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it received no calls regarding the quake and that it was in normal operating mode.
