Sheriff’s detectives continued their search Friday to find a 44-year-old man with schizophrenia who went missing in the South Gate area last week.

Efrain Ulysses Hernandez was last seen about 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Firestone Boulevard, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Hernandez is Hispanic. He stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has green eyes, short brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, and had a dark ring on his right hand, according to the LASD.

Anyone with information on Hernandez’s whereabouts was asked to call the LASD Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477. To issue an anonymous tip online, go lacrimestoppers.org.
