Authorities Monday identified a motorist who was killed when his vehicle overturned on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Carson.

Daniel Dante Smith, 44, of Los Angeles died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 4:20 a.m. Sunday just south of 228th Street, according to the county coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP, Smith was driving in the number four lane when the vehicle struck the concrete center divider wall and overturned.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
