Man arrested allegedly in possession of narcotics, handgun in Norwalk

A man was in custody Friday in Norwalk on weapons and narcotics charges, authorities said.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Norwalk Station observed a “suspicious-looking” vehicle about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and stopped it for traffic violations, said a Norwalk Station spokesman.

The deputies arrested the man after finding a handgun and ammunition, plus drugs and drug paraphernalia, in the vehicle, the spokesman said.

The location of the stop and arrest was not released.

There was no description of the vehicle, and no further information was immediately available.
