The Monrovia Unified School District is holding a fundraising celebration, “Broadway Under the Stars,” on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 7:30 p.m., at Monrovia High School.
“Broadway Under the Stars” is a musical revue featuring some of Broadway’s most iconic and memorable numbers. This event will take place alfresco in Friendship Circle on the campus at Monrovia High School to support the professional productions for the community at the Taylor Performing Arts Center. These productions feature many well-known Southern California performers as well as students from Monrovia Unified School District.
Doors will open at 6:30 pm for those who wish to bring a picnic dinner. Both VIP and General Admission tickets are available. General admission tickets are now on sale at brownpapertickets.com for $35. To make a reservation for VIP tickets, contact Patrick Garcia at (626) 471-2032. VIP tickets include priority seating and an invitation to attend a special reception immediately following the performance to meet the cast as well as be the first to hear the announcement of the next musical production.
The Monrovia Chamber of Commerce will host the 2021 Career Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DoubleTree Monrovia.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet face-to-face with local businesses that are currently hiring. San Gabriel Valley residents are welcome to attend.
The Monrovia Old Town Derby returns on Saturday, Sept. 11.
A registration form is available at monroviaoldtownderby.org. There is a fee of $100 to register.
The Monrovia Chamber of Commerce and the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley are looking for Monrovia businesses to participate in the 2021 Beer, Wine, & Music Festival. The Chamber is looking for food products for their snack bar, Old Town merchant flyers for special offers and coupon offerings for local businesses.
The festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 4-8 p.m. The beer and wine garden will be located at Monrovia Library Park.
The Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board and the merchant community will host the fourth Annual Monrovia Wine Walk on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy the charm of Old Town Monrovia as you stroll down the street and explore each business, all while sampling various wine offerings.
Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for $40 at monroviawinewalk.eventbrite.com. Old Town patrons can also acquire two tickets at a reduced price of $35 by spending $100 in Old Town in one shopping/dining experience. A receipt must be provided when purchasing the tickets from the Community Center, Charlie’s House, Douglas Elliman or PrimeLending.
Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event for $45.
