Possible suspect in Leimert Park area hit-and-run surrenders

A pedestrian was killed Monday in a hit-and-run in the Leimert Park area, and a possible suspect later surrendered to authorities, police said.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was struck about 3 a.m. at 39th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Following the fatality, a possible suspect surrendered to authorities, police said. No other information was immediately released, and police did not release a description of the vehicle or the driver.
