The coroner Tuesday morning released the name of the man killed in a car-to-car shooting in Venice that left his female passenger wounded.

Tyheam Bray Jr., 18, was a Venice resident.

The shooting was reported at 2:36 a.m. Monday at Sixth and Brooks avenues, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victims were traveling in a car when the suspect pulled up and fired multiple gunshots at them from another car, Orris said.

Officers arriving at the scene reported an overturned car with two gunshot victims inside. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken by paramedics to a hospital, where her vital signs were stable, Orris said.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white, four-door sedan that left eastbound on Rose Avenue.

Surveillance video showed the victims’ vehicle crashing into a parked car after the shooting, overturning and landing on someone’s front lawn.

LAPD West Bureau homicide investigators urged anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 213-382-9470 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222- 8477.
